Bill Whittle answers the Democrats’ charges that Republicans are evil – greedy, fascist racists. He includes a little history (the parties did not switch in their positions, as commonly argued) and a great answer to the “racist” accusations.
It was the Republican Party that freed the slaves in the first place and passed the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments, freeing the slaves, guaranteeing due process, and granting blacks the right to vote. In contrast, after the first black men were elected to Congress, the Democrats started the Ku Klux Klan to make sure it didn’t happen again for a century. The Democrats wrote the Jim Crowe laws that kept blacks in slavery. Black anti-slave writer Frederick Douglass wrote, “I recognize the Republican Party as the sheet anchor of the colored man’s political hopes, and the ark of his safety.”
Modern Democrats invented a new way of keeping the black man on the plantation working for them. “They gave them free food, free housing, and free medical care in exchange – not for a harvest of cotton – but rather a steady annual bumper crop of votes. The way that they did this was by telling black Americans that the Republicans (that had fought and died for their freedom) were in fact the real racists because we were against these new shackles like affirmative action and entitlement programs that keep them perpetually bound to their democratic masters.”
We believe that people who are used by other people and provided in return with free food, housing, and medical care are called slaves; and it is the Republican Party that was, is, and always will be the Party that frees the slaves.
